What is the Fairport UMC Message?
After
a process of prayer, reflection, conversation, prioritization, and wrestling
with profound questions of meaning, the following four statements are offered
from four different small groups as starting points for discussion of what
we take to be most central to our identity as the community of faith of
Fairport United Methodist Church.
These
statements are not the end of the discussion. Instead they are the beginning
of an ongoing reflection about who we are called to be and the values and
beliefs we envision ourselves as representing in our community.
The
Vision Group invites you to continue to reflect on and respond to these
four statements.
-
We are not alone, because the grace of God, the love of Jesus,
and the comfort of the Holy Spirit is with us always.
-
We are not alone! God’s love holds us and guides us, and
calls the church community to help us connect with God’s purpose for us.
-
We believe that God loves everyone unconditionally no matter
what the situation. We will pray together, putting ourselves and our concerns
in God’s hands, communicating hope no matter what the outcome of the situation.
We have a sense, as a church family, of God’s unconditional love and we
seek to love unconditionally.
-
Regardless of what earthly trials consume us, God is with
us, often manifested in those around us, surrounding us with unconditional
love.
